Spray Tans

A professionally applied spray tan gives you an even, warm colour with none of the orange tones, patchy ankles or streaky knees that come with doing it yourself at home. The solution is applied by hand with an airbrush, which means the depth can be adjusted across the body rather than applied at one flat strength.

Whether you want a subtle glow before an event or a deeper holiday colour, we will pick the shade and development time together so the result actually suits your skin tone.

How to prepare

Preparation makes more difference to the result than anything I do on the day. Please:

What to expect afterwards

You will leave with a light guide colour on the skin so you can see the coverage. Depending on the solution and shade chosen, you will rinse after anywhere between one and eight hours, and I will tell you exactly how long yours needs before you leave.

Rinse in a cool shower with water only, no shower gel or scrubbing, and pat yourself dry rather than rubbing. The colour will continue to develop for a few hours afterwards. From that point, moisturise daily and your tan should last five to seven days.

Making it last

Hot baths, long showers, chlorine, exfoliating scrubs and anything containing strong acids will all shorten the life of a tan. Daily moisturising is the single most effective thing you can do to keep it even as it fades.

When it starts to go, exfoliate it off properly rather than layering a new tan over the old one. Building up over a fading tan is the most common reason a second tan looks patchy.

Frequently Asked Questions

Will it look orange?

No, provided the shade is matched properly. Orange tones usually come from the wrong solution for someone’s skin tone, or from a tan being left on far too long. We will pick the shade together and I will tell you exactly how long to leave it.

Ideally the day before. That gives the colour time to settle and lets you rinse and moisturise before the event itself. Same day is possible with a rapid tan, but the day before gives a better finish.

Around 20 to 30 minutes for a full body tan, including time to talk through shade and aftercare.

Something loose and dark that you do not mind getting a little guide colour on, plus open shoes. Avoid tight waistbands, bra straps and anything that will rub the tan while it develops.

Please mention it when you book and we will talk it through. Many clients do, but I would rather have the conversation beforehand than make an assumption.
