Smooth, bright, refreshed skin
Dermaplaning is a gentle, mechanical exfoliation skin treatment that uses a sterile surgical blade held at an angle against the skin to remove the outermost layer of dead skin cells and fine, soft facial hair (the vellus hair sometimes called peach fuzz).
The result is smoother skin, brighter tone, and a more flawless makeup application. It’s also a great preparation for other skin treatments, allowing serums and moisturisers to absorb more effectively into the skin.
What's included
The Dermaplaning Facial is a 45-minute treatment that includes:
- A thorough double cleanse
- A short skin assessment
- The dermaplaning treatment itself, performed with a sterile surgical blade
- A calming, hydrating mask
- Targeted serum, moisturiser, and SPF
What to expect afterwards
Skin usually looks immediately smoother and brighter. Mild pinkness for an hour or two is normal. There’s no real downtime, but I’ll ask you to avoid active skincare ingredients (like retinol or strong acids), heavy exercise, and direct sun for 24 hours afterwards.
Common myths about dermaplaning
The most common worry is that dermaplaning makes facial hair grow back darker or thicker. It doesn’t. Dermaplaning removes the soft vellus hair, and when it grows back, it grows back the same colour, texture, and thickness as before. The hair you have now is the hair you had before treatment, simply temporarily smoothed away.
How often
Most clients enjoy dermaplaning monthly. The skin’s natural cell renewal cycle is around 28 days, so a monthly schedule lines up well with the skin’s own rhythm.
Suitability
Dermaplaning isn’t suitable for active acne, broken skin, or certain skin conditions. We’ll discuss your skin history at consultation and advise honestly. If dermaplaning isn’t suitable for your skin, an alternative treatment is usually a better option, and I’ll recommend one.

Frequently Asked Questions
Will my hair grow back darker?
No. Dermaplaning removes the soft vellus hair, which grows back the same texture and colour. This is one of the most common myths about the treatment, and it’s not true.
Is it suitable for sensitive skin?
Often yes, with care. Dermaplaning is actually one of the gentler exfoliation methods and can suit sensitive skin where chemical exfoliation might be too strong. We’ll assess your skin at consultation.
Is it safe?
When performed by a trained professional using sterile equipment, dermaplaning is very safe. The blade is held at an angle that removes dead skin cells and vellus hair without nicking or cutting the skin.
Can I have dermaplaning alongside other treatments?
Yes. Dermaplaning pairs well with hydrating masks, gentle peels, and a thorough facial. It’s not appropriate immediately before or after some skin treatments, and we’d plan timing carefully.
